A market in motion, a thesis to test

Payment companies, networks, platforms, and startups are already exploring agentic commerce, credentials, intent, and controls. It is not accurate to call this a blank market or say no one is working on agent authority. The useful question for Noesia is narrower: in which workflow does a specific customer have a problem their current tools do not solve well enough, and who has a reason and budget to change that?

Areas to map

  • Discovery and checkout: Google UCP, OpenAI/ACP, merchants, and platforms.
  • Credentials, intent, and controls: Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, and standards initiatives.
  • Business spending: card/spend-management tools, issuers, processors, and ERPs.
  • Agent-focused services: several startups are exploring agentic wallets, APIs, and payments.
  • Disputes and responsibility: merchants, issuers, processors, and recourse processes have distinct roles.
This is a research map, not a ranking or independent verification of adoption, revenue, performance, or commercial availability. Provider status and terms change; check sources before citing.

Candidates to compare in the USA

  1. Consumer: What real task is delegated, and how often? Who owns the credential and bears the risk?
  2. SMB / finance: Which purchases are delegated to software, and what do existing cards, ERPs, and internal policies already cover?
  3. AI platforms / developers: Which integration is blocked, and who decides and funds implementation?
  4. Merchant / PSP / issuer: Which residual problem is measurable, and what role would Noesia have?
No segment has been selected. For each candidate, look for recent episodes, alternatives, budget ownership, urgency, and disconfirming evidence.

How to read the Hark signal

Hark is relevant for the shape of its story and for offering a concrete capability to observe, not because its results transfer to Noesia. Hark’s first 100,000 referenced in a promotion were sign-ups offered a paid plan, not a claim about active users; the announced funding also reflects a different context.
